This policy explains what personal data the KortexGames mobile application (the “App”) processes, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. It applies to both the Android and iOS versions of the App.
Three-line summary. You can use the entire App without an account and offline — in that mode your data never leaves your device. If you create an account, we store your email and progress so we can sync them across devices. The App shows ads, and ads collect data — unless you are under 13, in which case only non-personalized ads are served.
The controller of your data is Moro Tomás Ezequiel, located at Manzana 67 Lote 28, Docta Urbanización, Córdoba, Province of Córdoba (CP 5000), Argentina.

KortexGames is a brain-training app aimed at a mixed audience: it is used by both adults and children under 13.
For that reason, the first time you open the App we ask for your year of birth on a neutral age screen (it does not suggest an answer and cannot be revisited to change it). Based on your answer, the App behaves differently:
| If the user is… | Accounts and sync | Advertising |
|---|---|---|
| Under 13 | Disabled. The App runs in local-only mode; no email or identifying data is collected, and nothing is sent to our servers. | Non-personalized ads only, with no advertising identifier and content rated suitable for general audiences. |
| 13 or older | May create an account and sync progress (optional). | Personalized ads only with prior consent; otherwise non-personalized ads. |
Notice for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child in your care has provided us with personal data — for example, because they entered an incorrect age on the verification screen — email us at tomiezem@gmail.com and we will delete that information from our systems within 30 days. We will not require any additional information about the child in order to process the request.
We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Google Play Families Policy, and Apple's App Store guidelines for apps directed at children.
You can use every game feature without registering. In this mode, your progress, scores, statistics, streak, and settings are stored only in your device's local storage. They are not transmitted to our servers and we have no access to them. Uninstalling the App deletes them.
You can sign in with Google or with email and password. In that case we process:
We do not ask for and do not need your real name, phone number, address, location, or access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files.
The free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob. To do so, the AdMob SDK may collect:
Google processes this data as an independent controller. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
When you finish a game, the App may show how you compare with other players (“you are better than X% of players”). That calculation runs on our server over aggregated, anonymous data: you receive a single statistical number. Individual scores or identifiers belonging to other people are never shown to you and never leave the server.
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Providing the service: saving your progress and syncing it across your devices | Identification, progress, preferences | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Authenticating you and protecting your account | Email, credentials | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Showing non-personalized ads to sustain the free version | Technical data, IP | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Showing personalized ads | Advertising identifier, IP, interactions | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time |
| Computing percentiles and comparative statistics | Aggregated, anonymized scores | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Handling your rights requests and support enquiries | Email and the content of your message | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
We do not sell your personal data, do not disclose it to data brokers, and do not use it for profiling that produces legal effects concerning you.
In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: before the first ad is shown, the App presents a consent form managed with Google's User Messaging Platform, compliant with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. There you can accept or reject personalized ads and see the full vendor list. You can change your decision at any time under Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy options inside the App.
On iOS: the system will additionally ask for permission to track you across apps (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, the IDFA is not used and you will see non-personalized ads. You can change this under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Users under 13: consent is not requested because the App tags all ad requests as child-directed and caps ad content rating at “suitable for general audiences.” Only contextual, non-personalized ads are served.
Premium plan: if you purchase the Premium subscription, the App stops showing ads and stops loading the advertising SDK.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the providers required to operate the App:
| Provider | Purpose | What it receives | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and the database where your progress is stored | Email, user identifier, progress data | supabase.com/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Serving ads in the free version | Advertising identifier (13+ and with consent only), IP, device data | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Sign-In | Signing in with a Google account (optional) | Identity confirmation; returns your email and identifier to us | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play / Apple App Store | App distribution and Premium subscription management | Transaction data (handled by the store; we never see your payment details) | apple.com/legal/privacy |
We may also disclose data where required by law or a competent authority, or to defend our rights against fraudulent use of the App.
Our servers are hosted with Supabase in the us-east-1 (N. Virginia, United States) region.
Because that region is in the United States, all personal data of users located in the European Economic Area is transferred outside the EEA. The same applies to some of our providers (Google). Such transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest, passwords stored using hashing functions, and Row Level Security at the database layer, which guarantees at the engine level that each user can only read and write their own rows. No system is infallible, but we will notify you of any breach affecting your data within the applicable legal deadlines.
You may exercise the following rights at any time:
How to delete your account and data. In the App, go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. You can also email us at tomiezem@gmail.com from the address you registered with. In both cases we delete your account, progress, and statistics within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymous statistics that can no longer identify you are retained. Full detail at Delete account and data.
We respond to any request within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA and believe we have not handled your rights properly, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. To exercise your rights, use the same contact email.
The App is not a website and does not use browser cookies. It does use the device's local storage to save your settings and progress, and the AdMob SDK may use device identifiers for the advertising purposes described in section 3.3.
We may update this policy when the App's features or applicable regulations change. The “last updated” date in the header always reflects the version in force. If a change is material — for example, a new data category or a new provider — we will notify you inside the App before it takes effect.
